![]() This year, in the beginning of July, Sarah, Me and my loverly parents went on a vacation to Kenora, Ontario. (about 2 hours from the Winnipeg border) In retrospect, we didn't really do much. Sarah spent half the days in Kenora sleeping, and I ended up taking pictures of scenery etcetera. Also, we ended up playing the card game Sequence, frequently, and as frequently, insanely. Plus, I became the Uno Champion of the World, which is actually a really sad thing to say, cos I was on vacation, and should have been having wild & crazy fun times. But, I was, alas, addicted to Sequence. From there, we went to Winnipeg, where me and Sar were involved in an almost feverish bout of shopping. I bought tons upon tons of things. My most favourtist place in Winnipeg, by the way, even though its kind of impossible to find, is the Forks. (Even though Sarah was suckered into buying a sixteen dollar necklace that we later saw at 'Claire's' for 8 bucks. After a day in Winnipeg, we went to Victoria Beach in Manitoba, where we spent about half a week at this cabin I've been going to since I was six years old. The creepiest thing about going back to Victoria Beach, however, was that nothing had changed. It was the same convenience store, the same tennis court, the same red stairs to get down to the beach. The cabin had the same furniture, the same books, games, and glasses, and everything mostly had remained in the same spot. The room where I had slept when I was a kid was exactly the same, the same blankets, the same books on the shelf. It was eerie. Incredibly, incredibly, freaky. I felt like I was six again, and promptly went into a huge nostalgia phase where all I could mutter was "Wow..this is weird." After about 10 days we headed back, stopping again in Winnipeg to go shopping. ;p It wasn't the most thrilling of vacations, for instance, as if say, we went to Europe or something, but on the other hand, I hadn't been out of Thunder Bay (except for Schreiber) in about 3 years. So for me, Kenora was almost the equivalent of going to Paris. Uhhm, almost. ;p |
